Senior Software Engineer – Onboard Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain StackOS, the vehicle operating system for Stack AV, ensuring reliability and performance for a safety-critical autonomy platform.

• Lead the architecture and execution of the onboard segment of Deploy Manager to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient vehicle software delivery.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conceptualize and implement features from the idea stage through to deployment.

• Automate processes related to the assembly of self-driving vehicles and the updating of their software.

• Identify and assess opportunities to enhance the performance, reliability, and usability of StackOS and Deploy.

• Collaborate with safety and validation teams to fulfill functional safety requirements.

• Deliver high-quality software through automated testing, manual code reviews, and automated code evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in C++ development is required.

• Some experience with Python is highly preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles and algorithm design.

• Significant experience in developing high-performance software systems within resource-constrained environments, ideally for safety-critical applications.

• Expert understanding of Linux and the process of building Linux distributions using Yocto.

• Strong grasp of POSIX programming, Linux, and concurrent programming techniques.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.

• Comfortable with working on and debugging embedded systems.
