Senior Software Engineer – Node.js, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Assess data integrity issues, investigate and rectify data, and monitor SQL databases to pinpoint and resolve significant challenges.

• Conduct root cause analysis utilizing SQL, logs, and code, followed by rectifying data discrepancies and improving code.

• Relay project updates and recommendations to client project stakeholders.

• Develop efficient, high-performance, testable, scalable, secure, and high-quality code for clients.

• Engage in planning and estimation utilizing project methodologies and tools.

• Collect requirements and organize as well as present developed features to clients.

• Carry out intricate tasks within the established methodology and quality standards across various projects.

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to comprehend user pain points, foresee potential issues, and iterate on solutions.

• Take part in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and governance tasks.

• Mentor engineers through Communities of Practice and project teams.

• Independently lead project delivery from conceptualization to deployment within the defined architecture.

• Design and develop scalable Node.js backend services and APIs.

• Utilize AWS serverless services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and RDS.

• Enhance system performance and resolve complex issues.

• Remain updated with the latest advancements in Node.js and AWS technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable backend services and APIs with Node.js.

• Proficient with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.

• Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical requirements.

• Background in optimizing system performance and troubleshooting intricate issues.

• Experience in analyzing DynamoDB/RDS data discrepancies and inconsistencies via logs and queries, conducting root cause analysis, and correcting data and code problems.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, including abstraction and encapsulation.

• High-level design capability utilizing UML, C4, or ArchiMate.

• Experience in creating and deploying well-tested, scalable, and high-performance enterprise-level systems.

• Proactive in mentoring engineers and decision-makers.

• Solid understanding of SOLID principles.

• Knowledge of OWASP standards.

• Proficient in English.

• Familiarity with contemporary frontend build tools and CI/CD pipelines.

• Professional software engineering experience in multi-disciplinary teams.

• Skilled in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Kubernetes is optional).

• Knowledge of Object-Relational Mappers (ORMs).

• Understanding of architectural patterns such as microservices and serverless.

• Familiarity with design patterns including Factory, Singleton, and Observer.

• Experience with unit testing.
