Senior Software Engineer – Machine Learning, Marketplace Dynamics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Identify and take ownership of complex challenges, formulate testable hypotheses, and drive substantial business outcomes.

• Spearhead the design and analysis of experiments or create causal and predictive models.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement changes in production systems.

• Provide insights to various teams and convey conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Keep the team and projects up-to-date on advancements in machine learning and statistics by reading research papers and attending conferences and local events.

• Productionize and automate model pipelines within Python services.

• Enhance connections between Yelp users and service professionals through improved marketplace matching and precise pricing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in data analysis/statistical software and packages, including pandas, statsmodels, and sklearn, using Python, R, etc.

• Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, forecasting, or causal inference.

• Comfortable working in a Unix environment.

• Adequate software engineering skills to collaborate effectively with software engineers.

• Proven ability to conduct original research.

• A curious mindset aimed at discovering promising solutions to emerging problems.

• Determination to see ideas through to completion.

• Motivation to gain in-depth knowledge of products and business operations.

• Ability to link abstract modeling and analysis tasks with business value.

• Must reside in the Republic of Ireland.

• Basic criminal background check via AccessNI required for applicants from Northern Ireland.
