Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and implement comprehensive machine learning systems that support AI/ML product initiatives.

• Take ownership of projects from problem definition through to implementation, assessment, launch, and post-launch evaluation.

• Develop production-level solutions for computer vision, multimodal processing, and agentic pipelines that handle images and various inputs.

• Enhance and optimize data pipelines, frameworks for model assessment, and mechanisms for feedback.

• Collaborate with annotation teams, operations, product managers, and domain specialists to establish data needs, labeling guidelines, success metrics, and deployment strategies.

• Convert experimental results into technical guidance that balances model performance, latency, cost, and operational complexity.

• Contribute to code, documentation, and technical design deliverables.

• Engage in design reviews, code reviews, and discussions across different functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in machine learning, applied AI, or a related software engineering domain.

• Extensive hands-on experience in developing and deploying machine learning systems in production, covering data preparation, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.

• Proficient in Python and familiar with common ML tools.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including testing, modular design, observability, and version control.

• Experience in computer vision, multimodal modeling, information extraction, search/retrieval, or systems based on large language models (LLMs).

• Capability to define statistically valid evaluation methods and make data-informed decisions regarding model readiness and trade-offs.

• Strong judgment in system design for scalable, maintainable, and practical solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, navigate uncertainty, and ensure tasks are completed.

• U.S. work authorization; Collectors utilizes e-Verify to confirm legal work eligibility in the United States.
