Senior Software Engineer – Line Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain contemporary web applications utilizing React, TypeScript, and associated front-end technologies.

• Convert business requirements, user stories, and design specifications into scalable and maintainable solutions.

• Define front-end architectural patterns, coding standards, and development best practices.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and back-end engineers to create high-quality user experiences.

• Enhance applications for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and maintainability.

• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards.

• Diagnose complex technical challenges and offer effective solutions.

• Promote continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and engineering practices.

• Leverage AI-powered development tools like Cursor and other coding assistants to speed up software delivery.

• Establish best practices for AI-assisted software development, including code generation, debugging, documentation, and testing.

• Mentor team members on the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted development workflows.

• Ensure that AI-generated code adheres to security, quality, maintainability, and architectural standards.

• Lead and coordinate front-end development efforts conducted by contractor resources.

• Evaluate contractor performance, technical skills, and the quality of deliverables.

• Conduct technical assessments and interviews for potential contractor resources.

• Suggest staffing adjustments, resource substitutions, and skill alignment based on project requirements and performance.

• Mentor and guide developers to enhance technical quality and delivery consistency.

• Establish productivity, quality, and engineering benchmarks for contractor teams.

• Act as the primary liaison for front-end technical delivery and resource efficiency.

• Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to project leadership.

• Experience in managing consulting or contractor-based delivery teams.

• Background in evaluating technical talent and engaging in staffing decisions.
