Senior Software Engineer – Life Asia, Life400

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Manage Core Application deliverables for product launches, subsequent features, customer acquisition, servicing, and middleware integration.

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for initiatives related to Core applications.

• Create and provide engineering deliverables for product sales, customer acquisition, and servicing solutions across Core Applications (Life Asia/Life400), CCM Solutions, Underwriting Engines, Workflow, and Middleware Integration with front-end/mobile applications.

• Collaborate closely with Business Product Owners, Tech-Delivery Leads, and technical team members to outline technical designs for product launches, post-launch features, enhancements, and new project initiatives.

• Develop technical solutions and mentor junior IT team members.

• Work with business product owners to achieve Product & Proposition objectives and customer service deliverables.

• Oversee the technical delivery of assigned tasks and projects.

• Foster relationships with Delivery Leads, Engineering team members, and business users throughout the organization; clearly communicate technical solutions across teams.

• Contribute to the architecture and design of the Policy Admin System by offering best-practice guidance and patterns.

• Stay informed about industry verticals and updates in the insurance/financial sectors to support and propose suitable solutions.

• Manage and adhere to established timelines.

• Determine the most effective technical solutions to meet business needs.

• Suggest solutions for challenges and issues encountered by users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the Insurance/Financial Industry, including at least 5 years supporting Core Policy Administration systems, particularly Life Asia/Life400.

• More than 5 years of COBOL/400 programming experience with LifeAsia/Life400 applications.

• Familiarity with related applications such as underwriting engines, front-end/mobile applications, and workflow.

• Experience with omnichannel integration.

• Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies.

• Knowledge of integrating Core applications with surrounding applications like Sales Portals, Workflow, and underwriting engines.

• Solution-oriented and pragmatic mindset with excellent communication skills.

• Strong conceptual and analytical abilities, coupled with a drive to define process automation.

• Capability to work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment.

• Experience with application integration middleware such as MuleSoft is a plus.

• Solid understanding of Agile/Iterative delivery methodologies.
