Senior Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Solely accountable for the complete lifecycle of projects or features, encompassing engineering design, development, and deployment.

• Enhancing code structure and architecture to facilitate testability and maintainability.

• Authoring, co-authoring, and reviewing design documentation.

• Maintaining a high level of expertise in one or more technical domains.

• Prioritizing and addressing unowned or less desirable tasks that help the team accelerate progress.

• Ensuring that work aligns with quality standards.

• Collaborating with the team and adjacent teams to troubleshoot issues.

• Raising concerns that have a broader impact.

• Mentoring and assisting fellow engineers on a one-on-one basis.

• Conducting thoughtful and constructive code reviews in a timely manner.

• Overseeing one or more product areas or fulfilling another individual contributor leadership role (such as Product Lead or Scrum Master).

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in software engineering or software development, ideally within a related field.

• A thorough understanding of computer science principles and the capacity to apply expertise in object-oriented design, multi-threaded architecture, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity.

• Practical programming experience with relevant languages (Java and/or TypeScript).

• Familiarity with relevant toolsets (such as IntelliJ or equivalent, Git, Webpack).

• Proficient in SQL or relational databases (including querying, schema design, and stored procedures).

• Experience in handling data at scale (high-volume, high-frequency, or streaming data pipelines).

• Strong creative problem-solving abilities.

• Enthusiastic about developing applications that provide a delightful user experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

• Experience collaborating in a team environment utilizing agile methodologies.

• Adept at applying programming concepts to create highly responsive and efficient applications, including concurrency and multi-threading.
