This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more country.
• We are looking for mission-driven back-end engineers who are enthusiastic about contributing to significant innovations at the convergence of AI, life sciences, and digital health.
• Collaborate with a seasoned cross-functional agile team on a highly successful flagship product for the organization.
• Develop on-premise components and cloud microservices, integrating with contemporary cloud platforms.
• As a team focused on AI, we utilize a variety of AI tools in our software development life cycle (SDLC). We expect you to be familiar with and apply AI in development as well.
• Design, develop, and test architectural modifications, product features, and enhancements.
• Utilize containerization and cloud technologies (compute, network, and storage) to construct, deploy, and execute services and applications in the cloud.
• Assist in product monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain high-quality standards.
• Promote and drive best practices and standards within the development team.
• Engage in peer reviews and advocate for good quality and secure development methodologies.
• Work collaboratively with other teams to enhance existing products, services, and tools.
• Fulfill all mandatory company-wide compliance training and role-specific training, including QMS, ISMS, GxP, DocuSign, and SDLC as applicable.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is mandatory.
• Proven experience working with AI in the SDLC, such as Claude Code, BMAD, etc.
• A minimum of 6 to 7 years of experience in a similar development position is required.
• Extensive experience in Java (certification is a plus).
• Strong background in the Spring ecosystem—specifically Spring Boot and Spring Cloud (Gateway, Streams, Security/OAuth2, Spring Data).
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture, Apache Kafka, and distributed caching (e.g., Hazelcast).
• Experience with web services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with CI/CD solutions, testing frameworks, and build tools.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud, MongoDB Atlas, Mongo Lucene, Terraform, Skaffold, and Helm.
• Competence in other programming languages (Python, JavaScript).
• Prior experience in a regulated environment is essential.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies.
