Senior Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web-based applications and microservices.

• Lead and actively participate in software architecture, design discussions, and technical decision-making.

• Develop front-end applications utilizing JavaScript frameworks, with a preference for Angular.

• Build and sustain backend services using Spring Boot.

• Implement strategies for containerized development and deployment.

• Apply Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.

• Design and execute data models based on high-level business requirements.

• Troubleshoot complex system issues, including Sev1 production incidents, and determine root causes.

• Conduct performance testing of systems and address bottlenecks.

• Support application integration and ensure robust system design.

• Utilize object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

• Engage in Test-Driven Development or Behaviour-Driven Development practices.

• Collaborate with remote technical leaders and cross-functional teams.

• Identify risks or obstacles and propose mitigation strategies.

• Contribute to engineering best practices and provide mentorship to team members.

• Participate throughout the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, development, testing, and deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 10 years of professional software development experience.

• Extensive experience in JavaScript-based frontend development, with a preference for Angular.

• Strong proficiency in Spring Boot.

• In-depth experience with microservices architecture.

• Comprehensive knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

• Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid background in Linux environments and shell scripting.

• Proficient in containerization technologies.

• Experience in designing and implementing data models.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve intricate production issues.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and system architecture.

• Experience in distributed or remote collaboration environments.

• Preferred: experience in the payment processing industry.

• Preferred: familiarity with AI development tools and automation technologies.

• Preferred: exposure to cloud-native application development.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
