Senior Software Engineer – IoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design cloud architecture for IoT systems.

• Create IoT fleet management solutions.

• Enhance and progress device firmware.

• Manage all technological facets of Voltus’ IoT infrastructure, encompassing device software and firmware, cloud infrastructure, fleet management, and remote connectivity solutions.

• Ensure uptime and quality for the fleet of devices.

• Develop device hardware and firmware.

• Execute remote software updates.

• Construct cloud architecture to collect data from and oversee thousands of devices.

• Create and sustain fleet management solutions.

• Collaborate with customers, field support teams, and manufacturing and assembly teams to pinpoint improvement opportunities.

• Work collaboratively with customers, internal stakeholders, and the development team.

• Share knowledge and expertise in agile methodologies.

• Engage in an open, collaborative, and psychologically-safe engineering environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent blend of education and experience, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• At least 8 years of experience as a code-contributing engineer.

• Proficient in building production systems using Python, Go, or a similar high-level programming language.

• Familiarity with AWS and Postgres or a comparable RDBMS.

• Knowledgeable and skilled in Linux-based systems.

• Basic understanding and interest in electronics and electrical systems such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino-style technologies.

• Authorization to work in the US or Canada without requiring sponsorship.

• GitHub account link required in the application; submissions lacking a GitHub account will not be considered.

• Strong foundational programming skills with considerable depth in certain core technologies.
