
Senior Software Engineer β Home Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
β’ Develop and sustain integrations with OEM cloud platforms across batteries, solar power, smart meters, and HVAC systems.
β’ Architect and enhance our home energy APIs, consolidating telemetry and controls across the HEM system, batteries, and curtailment into a user-friendly product surface for customer optimizations.
β’ Enhance observability and vendor performance across our integrations, and participate in the team's triage rotation.
β’ Collaborate with partnership and commercial teams to assess API feasibility for new OEM integrations.
β’ Cultivate strong relationships with customers relying on our platform, working closely with your PM and commercial partners, and allow their feedback to influence our development.
β’ Troubleshoot and deploy production features using Node/TypeScript on our AWS-based infrastructure.
β’ Adopt a product-engineering mindset, balancing speed, quality, and customer impact in your daily decisions.
β’ Proven experience in building and maintaining backend services in production, particularly in API or integration-centric systems.
β’ Strong proficiency in designing for reliability, scalability, and performance.
β’ Capability to take ownership of projects from initial scoping to production deployment, including iterations based on customer feedback or usage data.
β’ Comfort in dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environments where teams collaboratively create clarity.
β’ Effective and thoughtful communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
β’ A product-oriented mindset: you are committed to addressing the right problems and simplifying life for customers and team members.
β’ Nice to have:
β’ - Experience with TypeScript/Node, AWS services, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or similar production tools.
β’ - Familiarity with home energy assets (batteries, solar/inverters, HVAC, smart meters), energy markets, or IoT/device ecosystems.
β’ - Previous exposure to API-first products or integration platforms.
β’ - Experience with on-call or incident response.
