Senior Software Engineer – GenAI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• AI orchestration is a fundamental skill: You conceptualize workflows in agent pipelines rather than focusing solely on individual prompts.

• You manage Claude Code (and similar agent-based frameworks) to ensure multiple agents collaborate simultaneously on features, refactorings, and tests, while you deliberately assess, curate, and refine their outputs.

• Enhance product landscape efficiency: You pinpoint areas within the existing codebase (Java backend, JavaScript frontend) that can be optimized for speed, robustness, and maintainability through AI-driven development and enhancements, implementing these modifications independently.

• Architecture & quality assurance: You comprehend, validate, and securely incorporate AI-generated code into current architectures.

• You establish the guardrails (tests, reviews, best practices) that transform agent outputs into dependable software.

• Technical innovation within the core team: You collaborate with the core team to develop new ideas and technologies for both backend and frontend, integrating AI workflows throughout the development lifecycle.

• Performance & scalability: You design and execute strategies for quality assurance and performance enhancement.

• Technical consultant: As a final support resource and point of contact for product owners and sales, you bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of substantial experience in software development with Java and optionally JavaScript (or similar languages).

• You are well-versed in clean code practices, having adhered to them for years.

• Regular and effective use of agentic AI tools in your day-to-day development, preferably Claude Code, Cursor, or similar — not merely as an experiment, but as a primary working tool.

• Experience in prompt and context engineering for accurate code generation, as well as evaluating, hardening, and integrating AI-generated code.

• A degree in (business) computer science or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Fachinformatiker with relevant experience).

• Excellent command of the German language, both spoken and written (mandatory), along with good proficiency in English.

• A structured, independent working approach and familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum).
