Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Engaging in the design and development of TimescaleDB Enterprise, our on-premises deployment and management platform.

• Contributing to the development of core product features under supervision, which includes:

• - management consoles and user-facing tools (React + TypeScript)

• - backend APIs and services (Go)

• - deployment workflows and configuration management (Ansible)

• - operational tools for production PostgreSQL databases

• - and experiences for customer administration.

• Creating tests at all levels, from unit tests to automated end-to-end testing on real infrastructure.

• Acquiring experience in making technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle, balancing speed, maintainability, and user experience.

• Collaborating with senior engineers to grasp operational needs and translate them into effective product solutions.

• Implementing new features while learning to enhance reliability, usability, and operational simplicity.

• Partnering with Platform Engineering and various stakeholders across Product, Support, and Sales Engineering.

• Assisting in executing the long-term product and technical vision for the Enterprise platform.

• Learning to navigate effectively in uncertain environments where priorities shift and engineers are encouraged to clarify objectives.

• Utilizing AI tools daily to expedite development, debugging, and product iteration processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Foundational experience in software engineering (approximately 1-3 years, including internships or significant projects), preferably with exposure to backend services, developer platforms, or infrastructure tools.

• Proficient in Go or TypeScript, or a proven ability to quickly learn new programming languages.

• Familiarity with Linux fundamentals: shell commands, SSH, services, containers, and basic networking.

• A keen interest in working across various system layers, from backend services to user-facing tools.

• Growing knowledge and proficiency with AI coding tools.

• Basic understanding of PostgreSQL, distributed systems, or deployment automation is highly advantageous.

• Experience in collaborative environments with other technical contributors.
