Director, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the engineering strategy for your segment of the Protect platform, transforming long-term product and business objectives into clear technical blueprints.

• Guide and nurture engineering managers and senior engineers, building robust teams with defined ownership, healthy operational rhythms, and significant growth trajectories.

• Consistently deliver intricate distributed systems with high quality, balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and long-term technical sustainability.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Research, Security, and executive stakeholders to synchronize roadmap priorities, technical investments, and customer outcomes.

• Elevate standards for architecture, observability, operational excellence, and developer productivity within your domain.

• Leverage metrics and sound engineering judgment to enhance delivery health, team efficiency, and the resilience of large-scale systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of engineering experience, including significant leadership roles in software, platform, or infrastructure settings.

• Demonstrated experience in owning and scaling distributed systems, APIs, or microservices in production, preferably in SaaS environments.

• Strong technical expertise in cloud-native systems and modern engineering practices across AWS and/or GCP.

• A history of enhancing execution through improved engineering metrics, process discipline, and organizational design.

• Experience in fraud prevention, authentication, voice biometrics, risk engines, or related security sectors.

• Familiarity with data science infrastructure, machine learning, or generative AI in production settings.

• Proven experience leading remote or distributed engineering teams during phases of growth and transformation.
