Senior Software Engineer – Drug Discovery Workflow

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute drug discovery workflows predominantly using Python to address genuine drug discovery challenges and streamline the drug design process.

• Participate in system design and architectural conversations, contributing to the evolution of platform components as the product and customer base expands.

• Work collaboratively across engineering, data, machine learning, and drug discovery science teams to provide integrated, end-to-end solutions.

• Efficiently utilize AI coding tools, demonstrating sound judgment in balancing between agentically developed proofs of concept and robust, production-ready code.

• Create high-quality, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while actively engaging in code reviews to maintain rigorous engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer science, engineering, computational chemistry/biology, or equivalent practical development experience in a relevant field.

• Over 5 years of professional experience as a developer, with a significant emphasis on backend systems.

• Proficient programming skills in Python.

• Extensive experience with Docker and containerized applications within production settings.

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, including effective testing strategies.

• A robust sense of ownership and accountability for technical results, focusing on reliability and long-term sustainability.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where priorities shift and trade-offs are a part of everyday decision-making.

• Excellent communication abilities and fluency in English, both verbal and written.
