Senior Software Engineer – DIRT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain features for Access Intelligence, event integrations, the phishing blocker in the browser extension, the shared Rust core library, and the Bitwarden Splunk application.

• Take ownership of tasks and collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive application testing is conducted.

• Design and enhance APIs, data models, and encrypted reporting structures tailored for enterprise-level data.

• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive feedback to colleagues.

• Work alongside the Bitwarden open-source community to review contributions and resolve GitHub issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience with .NET Core and C# for backend services.

• Strong expertise in Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS for front-end development.

• Profound understanding of relational database design, optimization, and SQL Server.

• Proven ability to design and develop RESTful APIs.

• Experience in building enterprise features where auditability, permissions, and compliance are critical.

• A collaborative and adaptable mindset combined with exceptional communication abilities.

• Passion for open source and enhancing internet security.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Nice-to-have: Experience as a Bitwarden user, in startups, with open-source projects, Rust, Python, Splunk or other SIEM tools, exposure to zero-knowledge or client-side encrypted systems, browser extension development, and familiarity with Claude Code or similar generative AI coding platforms.
