Senior Software Engineer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee the complete delivery of large-scale software projects across cloud, embedded systems, web/mobile front-end, data, and product teams.

• Produce clean, well-documented code while enhancing quality through code reviews and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Tackle intricate challenges related to scalability, integration, and architecture on a massive scale.

• Manage the entire lifecycle of services within a Kubernetes ecosystem, from design and deployment to operations and incident management.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor for engineers.

• Engage in rotating on-call duties.

• Help shape the future of Plume’s leading cloud platform, which supports millions of connected devices globally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 4 years of experience in writing and delivering production-quality code.

• Proven history of leading complex, cross-functional software projects from initial concept to final delivery.

• Strong expertise in one or more programming languages: Java, Scala, Node.js, or Rust.

• Comprehensive understanding of cloud-native architectures, particularly on AWS or GCP.

• Solid grounding in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design principles.

• Familiarity with computer networking, operating systems, and databases.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with Spark, Akka, or NestJS is considered a significant advantage.
