Senior Software Engineer, Cribl AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the founding team and a team of highly skilled engineers to influence the future of search and analytics for observability data.

• Incorporate advanced Generative AI technologies into the Cribl Product suite to address genuine customer challenges.

• Develop, launch, and manage AI-driven technology integrations within Cribl’s core products.

• Work alongside product and design leaders to prototype and test new AI functionalities.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in AI technology.

• Perform standby, on-call, or off-hours responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, focusing on building AI features from end to end in production across product, backend, and model integration layers.

• Fullstack experience in designing and scaling React-based user interfaces and backend services or APIs, with a strong emphasis on backend and systems thinking.

• Extensive expertise in TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language or runtime, such as Node.js, Go, Java, or a similar technology.

• Proven experience in creating AI agent-driven product experiences, which include conversational interfaces, tool-calling patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation or guardrail techniques, and agent orchestration.

• Professional experience with Model Context Protocols (MCPs), agent frameworks, orchestration layers, and the integration of external tools and data sources into LLM-based systems.

• Background in machine learning within applied environments where models or AI systems have been deployed, integrated, evaluated, or operated in production.

• Understanding of databases, APIs, observability, and production AI data and infrastructure patterns.

• Strong problem-solving ability from first principles, making informed engineering trade-offs that align with product and business objectives.

• Capability to work independently and navigate through ambiguity.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to articulate complex technical subjects to cross-functional stakeholders in a remote or distributed setting.
