Senior Software Engineer, Core Platform Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and sustain contemporary web applications for LightBox Live.

• Create responsive, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces utilizing React and TypeScript.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to convert business requirements and user workflows into top-quality software.

• Thoughtfully employ AI-assisted development tools to expedite implementation, testing, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and technical exploration while ensuring strong ownership of code quality and accuracy.

• Engage with APIs, data models, and backend services within a Node-based application environment.

• Take part in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, pull requests, and code evaluations.

• Assist in defining reusable components, patterns, and best practices throughout the application.

• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical and application-related issues.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Contribute to an agile development methodology that emphasizes delivering significant product value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Proven experience in building modern web applications, particularly with front-end technologies.

• Strong proficiency in React and contemporary front-end application development.

• Extensive experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript.

• Background in a Node.js application stack; familiarity with Next.js is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of GraphQL; experience with Relay is highly desirable.

• Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with modern ORM or database tools, particularly Prisma.

• Capability to decompose complex use cases into clear technical solutions.

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail in implementation, testing, and code review.
