Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and execute application layers, business logic, and API workflows for cloud infrastructure and relational database services.

• Oversee features from inception to production.

• Produce clean, scalable, production-quality code.

• Utilize cloud orchestration expertise for reliable multi-cloud deployments.

• Construct resilient cloud infrastructure for a globally deployed relational database engine.

• Create cloud-native applications, controllers, and automation tools.

• Design and manage multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• Develop and uphold CI/CD pipelines for automated, scalable deployments.

• Deploy, troubleshoot, and oversee application services across public clouds.

• Construct or integrate vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, and RAG systems.

• Create LLM-based applications or workflows utilizing AI agent frameworks.

• Implement relational database features such as SQL, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and schema design.

• Develop temporal data models, event-driven tracking, audit logs, and security measures.

• Create REST and/or gRPC APIs for external consumers or frontend systems.

• Collaborate within a small, high-ownership team with direct visibility into engineering strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development with extensive knowledge in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.

• Proven experience in designing and managing multi-cloud infrastructure at scale across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• Advanced skills in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and complex cloud orchestration.

• Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker in production-grade settings.

• Experience in developing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong proficiency in Go or Python for cloud-native applications, controllers, and automation tools.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST and/or gRPC APIs.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on data-intensive applications, database-related features, or enterprise software.

• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a significant production feature or module.

• Hands-on production experience across at least two major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Familiarity with vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, or RAG systems.

• Prior experience in building LLM-based applications or workflows leveraging AI agent frameworks.

• Strong expertise in Python and high proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, or C++.

• In-depth knowledge of relational databases, complex SQL, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and schema design.

• Experience with temporal data models, event-driven tracking, audit logs, or system-versioned tables.

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, RBAC, row-level security, and multi-tenant data isolation.

• Proficiency in structured logging, distributed tracing, OpenTelemetry, and alerting.

• Familiarity with MariaDB server is a plus.
