Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and construct resilient, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.

• Develop a cloud-native platform on public cloud services and automate the management of cloud resources.

• Work collaboratively with the ClickHouse core database development and security teams to create the SaaS offering.

• Create routing and traffic components to enhance the reliability and scalability of cloud services.

• Optimize availability by applying industry best practices and distributed-systems methodologies.

• Design and implement security components and tools, including firewalls, PKI and certificate infrastructure, and zero-trust networks.

• Enhance infrastructure performance and cost-effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of pertinent experience in software development within the industry, focusing on building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.

• Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Background in developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.

• Experience in creating cloud-native edge or service mesh services, ideally with Envoy and Istio.

• Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale technical projects with a team of experienced engineers.

• Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encryption methods, access controls, and compliance standards such as SOC2 and GDPR.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a global team.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and production debugging skills.
