Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Capacity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical vision and strategic roadmap for Temporal’s Cloud Capacity systems alongside engineering and product leadership.

• Design and develop infrastructure to monitor resource utilization, predict consumption, and facilitate automated capacity planning at scale.

• Oversee the creation of a resource manager that enhances infrastructure efficiency by analyzing usage patterns, cost data, and customer requirements.

• Work closely with Product, Cloud Infrastructure, and Finance teams on decisions related to provisioning, pricing, and scaling.

• Shape the strategy for intelligent autoscaling, workload isolation, and ensuring predictable performance within a multi-tenant cloud environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects encompassing cloud computing, storage, and networking systems.

• Strong intuition for product and operational aspects related to managing cloud expenses, utilization tracking, and workload forecasting.

• Proven history of designing distributed systems and services in a production cloud setting, ideally with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Practical experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and its associated ecosystem.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.

• Capability to align cross-functional stakeholders, including executives and finance partners, on intricate infrastructure challenges.

• Over 7 years of experience in developing production software using Go, Java, or comparable programming languages.
