Senior Software Engineer, Block Production

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and enhance mechanisms for block production to boost the throughput and stability of the Solana network.

• Develop and improve scheduling systems for both block production and verification, facilitating efficient transaction processing, equitable resource allocation, and reliable performance.

• Identify and address potential security vulnerabilities within the pipeline to ensure robust protection against emerging threats.

• Focus on enhancing the scalability of the pipeline to manage increasing transaction volumes and validator participation.

• Design and execute comprehensive testing protocols to verify the reliability and efficiency of block production, verification, and scheduling mechanisms.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth integration and operation of block production components.

• Maintain meticulous documentation and perform peer code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and consistency.

• Design and manage high-performance shared-memory interfaces for efficient data movement within the validator pipeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience with core infrastructure software and distributed systems.

• Strong expertise in systems programming languages such as Rust, C, or C++.

• Experience with distributed systems and blockchain technology.

• Ability to analyze complex systems and pinpoint potential issues.

• Understanding of common security threats and best practices for securing block production processes.

• Familiarity with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
