This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and deploy sophisticated behavior planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to guarantee the effective integration and performance of planning systems.

• Create, write, and sustain efficient and scalable code using C++ and Python.

• Contribute to the architecture and ongoing enhancement of behavior planning software.

• Perform extensive testing in simulated environments and real-world contexts to validate and enhance behavior planning algorithms.

• Evaluate system performance and implement improvements based on analysis and feedback.

• Maintain thorough documentation of code, algorithms, and system architecture.

• Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure smooth collaboration and development.

• Take ownership of the design and implementation of crucial modules within the behavior planner.

• Collaborate closely with the autonomy engineering team and report to the Planning Tech Lead.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in modern C++ (11/14/17) and object-oriented programming principles.

• Experienced in Python for rapid prototyping and testing purposes.

• Strong skills in debugging, profiling, and code optimization.

• In-depth knowledge of behavior planning algorithms such as state machines, behavior trees, and probabilistic planning methods.

• Familiarity with path planning algorithms including A*, RRT, or optimization-based techniques.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of professional experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or a similar field.

• Understanding of machine learning methodologies, particularly in behavior prediction and planning contexts.

• Experience with ROS / ROS2.

• Proven experience in developing systems that can re-plan at high frequencies to adapt to dynamic environmental changes.

• Background in ensuring behavior planning algorithms function with minimal latency for real-time navigation.

• Proficiency in optimization techniques and probabilistic models for making informed planning decisions under uncertainty.
