Senior Software Engineer – Banking Integration Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Develop Mercury’s integration with an FFIEC-approved banking core and connect to payment networks.

• Create internal APIs that provide product teams with straightforward, consistent interfaces to intricate external systems.

• Manage the complexities of enterprise integrations, including retries, failures, format discrepancies, and downtime.

• Construct data pipelines that ensure synchronization between Mercury's systems and our banking core.

• Take ownership of monitoring, alerting, and recovery for our most vital external connections.

• Collaborate with teams at Mercury to establish clear boundaries and dependable contracts.

• Contribute to the technical architecture of Mercury Bank.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, particularly in building and managing backend infrastructure and distributed systems at scale.

• Proven experience in integrating modern distributed software systems with legacy infrastructure, especially in highly-regulated environments.

• Knowledge of how banking systems operate, including accounts, transactions, ledgers, and their underlying data models.

• A product-oriented engineer who considers the needs of developers utilizing your APIs.

• Flourishes in settings focused on creating new solutions rather than maintaining existing ones.

• Proficient in Haskell or eager to learn the language.

• Holds strong, well-founded views on how to build reliable and maintainable systems.
