Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Retail DEX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Integrate new blockchains, decentralized exchanges, and launchpads into the Coinbase application.

• Design and implement proprietary smart contracts for on-chain trading features, including DEX aggregation and sophisticated order types.

• Scale real-time data pipelines to accommodate over 100K messages per second.

• Enable processing of blockchain market data with millisecond latency.

• Optimize the entire trading stack for swift execution, optimal fills, and extensive asset coverage.

• Foster iteration on agentic-first development practices.

• Develop self-improving software systems and tools to enhance team productivity.

• Facilitate on-chain DEX trading for millions of Coinbase users and over 70 million tokens across prominent blockchains such as Base and Solana.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software engineering.

• Proven track record in building and managing data systems or data pipelines in a production environment.

• Practical experience in designing data-intensive systems.

• Familiarity with large-scale data infrastructures, including Kafka, ClickHouse, StarRocks, Temporal, and Redis.

• Established experience in designing and integrating on-chain smart contracts on EVM (Ethereum, Base) or Solana.

• In-depth understanding of the programming models associated with one or more of these virtual machines.

• Proven capability to build, iterate, and enhance agentic-first code repositories and software systems in live production settings.

• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.
