This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Take ownership of and achieve quarterly objectives for the team.
• Guide engineers through uncertainty to address open-ended challenges and provide support during delivery.
• Work in tandem with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Engage in ideation, clarify technical constraints, and collaborate on risk and trade-off decisions.
• Recognize, advocate for, and spearhead the resolution of project, process, technology, and business challenges.
• Manage and maintain team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues as necessary, and supporting ongoing operational efforts.
• Establish and enhance code review and design standards, promoting them through writing and technical presentations.
• Foster team talent through constructive feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
• Design, develop, launch, and manage backend systems and asynchronous workloads for the Recoveries platform.
• Oversee loans through their final lifecycle phase and create and implement recovery strategies.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems.
• Familiarity with technologies including Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in delivering web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Background in creating, implementing, and managing batch processing or asynchronous workloads, including scheduled tasks, backfills, and large-scale data processing.
• Strong emphasis on correctness, observability, and handling failures effectively.
• Capability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, straightforward, and extensible designs.
• Proficient in writing high-quality, understandable, and reusable code.
• Ability to make substantial modifications safely within a large codebase.
• Experience in creating tools and practices that facilitate safe large-scale codebase modifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with a global engineering team.
