This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• You will take ownership of and drive quarterly objectives for your team, guiding engineers through uncertainty to address open-ended challenges, while ensuring that everyone receives necessary support during the delivery process.
• Collaborate with your peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle by working alongside product management, design, and analytics. Engage in ideation, communicate technical limitations, and collaborate on decisions that adequately weigh risks and trade-offs.
• Actively identify and advocate for resolutions to project, process, technology, or business challenges, leading efforts to resolve these issues.
• Ensure the operational efficiency and availability of your team’s deliverables by establishing and tracking metrics, raising issues when necessary, and supporting ongoing maintenance and on-call responsibilities.
• Cultivate a culture of quality and accountability within your team by setting or enhancing code review and design standards, and promoting these practices beyond your team through your writing and technical presentations.
• Contribute to the development of talent within your team by providing constructive feedback and mentorship, leading by example.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems utilizing languages such as Python or Kotlin.
• Proven experience in creating highly available distributed systems using technologies including AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to outline a technical roadmap for delivering significant features or system components with a design that is elegant, straightforward, and extendable.
• Skilled in implementing substantial modifications within a large codebase, developing a suite of tools and practices that empower you and your team to achieve this safely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities that facilitate effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
• This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
