
Senior Software Engineer β Backend Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as a seasoned individual contributor within a team while enhancing leadership, guidance, and mentoring capabilities.
β’ Assist in defining scope, scheduling, and delivery requirements with minimal oversight from leadership.
β’ Contribute to the strategy for program development and its long-term objectives.
β’ Serve as the primary point of contact for the discipline when collaborating with stakeholders.
β’ Propel enhancements in software engineering processes and practices.
β’ Take ownership of and contribute to the application codebase.
β’ Facilitate integration with related technical systems and ecosystems.
β’ Identify and resolve system issues, using incidents to guide system improvements.
β’ Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers.
β’ Effectively communicate technical challenges and developments to team members and clients.
β’ Engage in technical interviews.
β’ Suggest and assess solutions to technical and process-related challenges.
β’ Lead smaller, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects.
β’ Present design documents and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.
β’ Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in developing systems and applications for Federal clients.
β’ Experience in enterprise-level, high-availability application development.
β’ Proficient in using object-oriented design (OOD) patterns for concerns separation, code reusability, security, and performance.
β’ Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Angular, and Node.js.
β’ Proven experience in developing clean, well-architected code.
β’ Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, including Cloud Foundry, Azure, or AWS.
β’ Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools, such as Jenkins.
β’ Background in Source Control Management, preferably with Git/GitHub.
β’ Strong database skills, ideally with Oracle or SQL Server.
β’ Proficient in SQL or similar query languages and data formats like XML and JSON.
β’ Experience in developing or consuming Web Services, including REST, SOAP, and JSON.
β’ Familiarity with ETL jobs and APIs, including service-oriented architectures.
β’ Solid understanding of functional, SOA, and performance testing methodologies.
β’ Previous experience in government contracting is preferred.
