Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Consumer, Growth Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design and implementation of scalable distributed backend services that meet high QPS, low latency, and robust reliability standards for growth infrastructure.

• Design resilient service-oriented architectures utilizing contemporary cloud technologies, contributing across backend, data, and machine learning components of the stack.

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to convert product and technical visions into quarterly roadmaps.

• Spearhead initiatives in developer tools, shared platform capabilities, and inter-team relationships that enhance organizational efficiency.

• Develop high-quality, thoroughly tested production code for systems that are secure, reliable, and maintainable at scale.

• Promote rapid experimentation by creating and refining growth features that yield measurable effects on user acquisition and retention.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software engineering, focusing on the design, construction, scaling, and maintenance of production services in distributed settings.

• Proven proficiency in server-side architecture, encompassing performance enhancement, security, scalability, and containerized environments (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).

• Demonstrated capability to design and execute growth experiments or A/B tests, leveraging data to pinpoint and prioritize high-impact opportunities.

• Experience with integration into databases, caching layers, and storage solutions (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB) within high-throughput systems.

• Established history of cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering teams to provide end-to-end solutions, from scoping to production monitoring in a fast-paced environment.

• Employs generative AI thoughtfully, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and achieve measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
