This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop, scale, and sustain platforms and services that support Cisco services, data platforms, and the Meraki Dashboard.
• Create infrastructure and data pipelines that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Design, build, deploy, analyze, and maintain scalable distributed enterprise software solutions for recording and consuming telemetry data.
• Construct and manage backend components using C++ in a Linux environment.
• Enhance reliability, performance, scalability, testability, maintainability, observability, and developer experience.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other Cisco teams to comprehend internal and customer data needs and requests.
• Proficient in analyzing, scaling, troubleshooting, and debugging distributed systems.
• Skilled in software development using C++11 or later standards.
• Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub.
• Familiarity with deploying applications utilizing containerization and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge in designing and querying relational databases using SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks within the software development lifecycle.
• Proficient in using LLM-based coding assistants within the software development lifecycle.
• Programming background in Rust, Scala, or Python is preferred.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana is preferred.
• Experience with LaunchDarkly or similar feature flagging tools is preferred.
• Experience in maintaining database software is preferred.
• Willingness to work in an agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban is preferred.
• Ability to discuss the distinctions between prompt engineering, context engineering, and agentic engineering is preferred.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person, including U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee.
• May be required to perform tasks specified by the U.S. government that are limited to a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.
