Senior Software Engineer – Backend, AI/ML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and develop AI-driven features across the entire stack, from backend inference services to frontend interfaces within ClickHouse Cloud.

• Build robust and scalable APIs that link ClickHouse database functionalities with AI/ML inference systems as well as external and internal AI services.

• Implement and sustain integrations with the wider AI/ML ecosystem and standards.

• Integrate models into production environments, ensuring monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation.

• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation.

• Create and implement developer tools, SDKs, and documentation for ClickHouse AI/ML functionalities.

• Contribute to the development and operation of ClickHouse AI and machine learning products, which include the Agentic Data Stack, AI Functions, chDB, in-Console copilot, and AI/ML partnerships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience in production environments.

• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies.

• Experience in backend development using TypeScript or Python, with a focus on API design and service architecture.

• High level of ownership and capability to drive features from concept to production with minimal oversight.

• Ability to excel in collaborative settings and convey technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.

• Nice to have: experience in integrating and deploying AI/ML models in production settings, including inference APIs and vector databases.

• Nice to have: knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially in relation to AI/ML deployment services.

• Nice to have: understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines.

• Nice to have: experience with ClickHouse.

• Required application question: professional experience with TypeScript.

• Required application question: experience working as a Fullstack Engineer on AI/ML projects.
