Senior Software Engineer – Backend, AI-Enabled

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Create and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems that support business-critical workflows.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, QA, and platform engineering teams to ensure seamless end-to-end product experiences.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and conducting code reviews.

• Promote observability, reliability, automation, and operational excellence, which includes monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Engage in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and initiatives for engineering best practices.

• Provide support for production systems through on-call participation, incident management, and ongoing service improvements.

• Mentor and assist engineers via code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing endeavors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience in developing enterprise-level applications.

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot development.

• Experience in designing and constructing cloud-native backend systems utilizing RESTful APIs, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and related container orchestration technologies.

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance, reliability, and secure software design principles.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and contemporary DevOps practices.

• Experience using AI-powered development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Kiro, or similar platforms.

• Ability to critically assess, validate, and enhance AI-generated code while upholding quality, security, and maintainability standards.

• Enthusiasm for continuously learning and implementing emerging AI-assisted development practices.

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

• Experience with observability, monitoring, and production support methodologies.

• Proven ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments.
