Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design and execute essential gameplay systems and features for an online multiplayer RPG.

• Create a scalable architecture that supports dynamic, evolving gameplay in a live setting.

• Work collaboratively with the design team to develop core gameplay systems and supporting tools.

• Architect and produce high-quality, low-latency, and highly responsive code alongside project engineering.

• Engage in development from the initial concept stage through to live operations.

• Integrate game systems with both internal and external shared services and libraries.

• Conduct peer code reviews while advocating for code quality and excellence.

• Guide and mentor junior engineers, offering design direction.

• Collaborate with design and product teams to assess feature viability, associated costs, design completeness, and risk factors.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience working within cross-functional teams.

• Proven experience on at least one successfully published large-scale multiplayer online game title or its equivalent.

• Experience with at least one successfully published game title or its equivalent.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Expertise in C++ including templates, exception handling, and multithreading.

• Familiarity with object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.

• Strong foundation in 3D mathematics, including linear algebra, vector/matrix math, and quaternions.

• Proficiency with Unreal Engine, including core systems, player input, game modes, and user interfaces.

• Insight into game development disciplines and their contributions to the content pipeline.

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting capabilities.

• A genuine passion for online multiplayer RPGs and extensive experience with online gaming.

• Awareness of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in online gaming.

• Knowledge of performance analysis and optimization techniques.
