Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and APIs that support financial systems and integrations.

• Create solutions utilizing Java (versions 18-21) within microservices architectures.

• Build and sustain REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs, including those based on Spring Boot.

• Work with both relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Redis.

• Design and maintain cloud-native applications in AWS environments.

• Enhance and maintain existing systems, addressing legacy codebases as needed.

• Contribute to the architecture of scalable, maintainable, and reliable system designs.

• Actively engage in technical design discussions, proposing solutions that align with both business and engineering objectives.

• Assess trade-offs among various technical approaches and aid in decision-making.

• Ensure all solutions adhere to best practices regarding performance, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

• Collaborate with the Lead Software Development and other senior engineers on the evolution of architecture.

• Maintain high standards of code quality through rigorous code reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Implement automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and regression testing.

• Promote standards for clean code, thorough documentation, and maintainability.

• Help define and enhance engineering standards, patterns, and reusable components.

• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, debugging, and investigating production issues.

• Support applications in production settings, ensuring reliability and optimal performance.

• Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and performance challenges.

• Contribute to monitoring, observability, and operational enhancements.

• Work closely with Product, DBA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and other stakeholders to develop reliable and scalable solutions.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions while assessing feasibility and potential risks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate integrations with various systems and financial platforms.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers, fostering their technical growth.

• Share knowledge, best practices, and insights across the team.

• Assist in onboarding new engineers and bolster a collaborative engineering culture.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and efficiency.

• Adhere to organizational policies regarding the responsible use of AI-assisted tools in software development.

• Support the team in leveraging AI capabilities for coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Proactively seek opportunities to enhance system design, engineering processes, and development efficiency.

• Contribute to minimizing technical debt and improving system maintainability.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and engineering practices, sharing insights with the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong backend development expertise in Java (versions 18-21).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.

• Proven experience in developing and delivering backend systems in production environments.

• Background in designing and contributing to complex software systems and architectures.

• Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP).

• Proficient in SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL technologies (such as Redis).

• Familiarity with Kafka.

• Experience in developing cloud-based applications within the AWS ecosystem.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.

• Proven ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional environments.

• Experience in supporting and maintaining production systems.
