Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, debug, and test customer-facing firmware functionalities using C/C++ and Golang for Samsara’s cloud-connected hardware platform.

• Create IoT products with a long-term vision, supporting over 1.5 million devices currently deployed in the field.

• Establish and implement internal observability practices to monitor the health of firmware deployments.

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the organization expands globally.

• Work in collaboration with product managers, customer support teams, other firmware teams, and full-stack engineers.

• Engage in customer interviews and collaborate with customer success and product managers.

• Utilize metrics to ensure that engineering efforts enhance customer outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proven experience with large-scale observability in production systems.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying production code.

• Familiarity with building and monitoring metrics during firmware deployment.

• Experience in triaging and evaluating issues identified by customers and QA.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

• Candidates must reside in Canada, excluding the Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Montreal metro areas.

• Relocation assistance will not be available.
