Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

• Create technical solutions that are dependable, resilient, scalable, and high-performing.

• Develop quality, clear, testable, and maintainable software, frequently utilizing AI support.

• Engage in code reviews and participate in design discussions.

• Roll out new features and services that deliver exceptional customer experiences.

• Collaborate with product managers and the engineering team to estimate tasks and explore build options.

• Promote a security-focused culture and implement security best practices across the codebase.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in building production-level, high-volume software systems.

• Professional coding experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or JavaScript/React.

• Openness to recommend and adopt new technologies as needed.

• Full-stack experience or a readiness and ability to learn across the stack.

• Experience using AI tools to enhance engineering work, such as Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex.

• Familiarity with server-side concepts, including microservices, caching, performance, monitoring, and scalability.

• Experience with contemporary databases like Postgres and relevant application-side data modeling.

• Proficient with modern version control tools, including Git and GitHub.

• Understanding of CI/CD build and deployment tools, such as GitHub Actions or Semaphore.

• Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, including ECS, S3, and RDS.

• Willingness to become a domain subject matter expert in a highly regulated industry.

• Enthusiasm, curiosity, and adaptability to flourish in a startup environment characterized by constant change and growth.

• Ability to leverage AI tools and creativity to address new challenges.

• Preferred/plus: experience in Fintech, Insurance, Banking, or related financial services.

• Preferred/plus: previous professional experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails.

• Preferred/plus: exposure to data pipeline tools such as Fivetran or dbt.

• Preferred/plus: experience in early or mid-stage startups.
