Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services within a microservices architecture utilizing Go, NestJS/TypeScript, and Python.

• Take ownership of the AI-driven document processing and classification service, focusing on extraction quality, accuracy assessment, and the related pipeline.

• Create and manage integrations with third-party platforms, encompassing authentication, synchronization, retries, and recovery processes.

• Develop data schemas, migrations, and invariants as the product progresses.

• Debug across services and databases to uncover root causes of issues.

• Implement observability and provenance in automated processes to ensure actions are traceable, auditable, and reconstructable.

• Design secure automation with features such as idempotency, preconditions, postconditions, dry runs, and guardrails.

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code while enhancing system instrumentation.

• Define and monitor measures of correctness and reliability.

• Establish evaluation coverage for AI-driven outputs, including scenario tests, invariant checks, and regression detection.

• Oversee the monitoring and enhancement of latency, retries, and failure recovery in automated workflows.

• Mentor mid-level engineers.

• Facilitate design discussions and conduct code reviews.

• Document architectural decisions, failure modes, and debugging procedures.

• Serve as a technical partner to the Tech Lead regarding architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, predominantly in backend or systems-related roles.

• Proven ownership of a significant production system.

• Experience with production services in Go and/or Python; familiarity with TypeScript/Node is advantageous.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, query performance, and data integrity.

• Skilled in distributed and cross-service debugging involving services, queues, and databases.

• Expertise in third-party API integration engineering, covering authentication, retries, idempotency, and handling of partial failures.

• Knowledgeable in observability, structured logging, tracing, failure-mode analysis, and recovery design.

• Experience with unit and scenario testing, invariant checks, and evaluation of non-deterministic AI-based outputs.

• Familiarity with GCP is preferred, including Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub; Docker and CI/CD experience is also beneficial.

• Experience working with LLM-backed services and validating their outputs.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles.

• Excellent communication skills regarding design decisions, trade-offs, and risks.

• A pragmatic and collaborative mindset.
