Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend and frontend components for production.

• Create APIs, business logic, data access layers, and user interfaces.

• Introduce new features while improving existing legacy functionality.

• Transform legacy Java applications into Spring Boot services.

• Assist in breaking down monolithic systems into modular services.

• Ensure data integrity and maintain backward compatibility during phased modernization efforts.

• Identify and resolve defects within complex legacy codebases.

• Develop RESTful APIs utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Implement data access using Hibernate/JPA.

• Facilitate database modernization, schema evolution, and data migration processes.

• Build and maintain Angular applications using TypeScript.

• Create responsive UI behaviors and secure backend integrations.

• Work closely with UX and backend teams on API contracts and user experience design.

• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using IAM solutions.

• Utilize OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect and role-based access control.

• Develop with CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and production readiness as key considerations.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams for deployment and operational support.

• Engage in sprint planning, refinement, estimation, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Clearly communicate progress, risks, and technical challenges.

• Support the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering and estimation through to deployment, monitoring, and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience as an individual contributor.

• Strong expertise in Java with significant hands-on experience in Spring Boot.

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs, with proficiency in JUnit or similar testing frameworks.

• Practical experience with Angular (v2+) and TypeScript for integrating front-end features with back-end services.

• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or Oracle (SQL, schema design, troubleshooting).

• Proficient in Git and work tracking using Jira; excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Proven ability to perform code reviews, maintain code quality, and engage in coaching to enhance team practices.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, proactive risk identification, and effective communication to diverse audiences.
