This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver multiple significant features each week, setting a minimum velocity benchmark rather than exaggerating.
• Serve as the technical lead and guardian of your agentic coding pipeline.
• Craft comprehensive prompts and specifications while embracing Spec-Driven Development.
• Create orchestrator agents and manage teams of agents.
• Develop RALPH Loops incorporating well-structured completion promises.
• Effectively multitask across various agents to concurrently advance multiple substantial features.
• Construct the AI workflow engine that powers our products.
• Create cutting-edge graph-based agentic orchestration workflows featuring nodes, conditional edges, structured outputs, interrupts, and human-in-the-loop circuit breakers.
• Implement durable execution for long-running tasks that persist through process restarts, rate limits, and outages, including evaluation harnesses, versioned prompt chains, annotated datasets, and cross-provider benchmarks for cost, latency, and quality.
• Design resilient, high-scale backend systems.
• Engineer and scale distributed infrastructure using Python and TypeScript to manage demanding edtech workloads.
• Take ownership of systems design, API boundaries, and database performance, ensuring our foundational architecture is highly available, secure, and scalable.
• Enhance the context layer.
• Collaborate on architectural decisions. Work closely with the Head of Engineering, Chief Innovation Officer, and other product leaders on technical direction, feature roadmap, and significant technical design choices and trade-offs.
• Elevate team standards by reviewing the work of colleagues and contractors.
• You possess AI-native capabilities.
• You are highly skilled in continuous multi-session development utilizing Claude Code and/or OpenAI Codex.
• You excel in prompt engineering and context engineering.
• You create Agent Skills with the same precision as engineers develop unit tests.
• You consistently practice Spec-Driven Development (GitHub Spec Kit or equivalent) as part of your routine.
• You understand what a RALPH Loop is and how to effectively deploy one.
• You frequently deliver substantial features each week, not by cutting corners, but by optimizing your workflow around agentic tools with a discerning approach.
• You can distinguish between vibe-coding and prompt engineering with specification-driven work, knowing when to utilize each method.
• You have developed real backend AI orchestration layers that function autonomously.
• You conceptualize in graphs, managing shared state through nodes, conditional edges, interrupts, and circuit breakers.
• You have successfully implemented complex agentic pipelines using LangGraph, Python, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• You regard durable execution, structured outputs, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and provider-agnostic model routing as fundamental design constraints.
• You have created evaluation harnesses, annotated datasets, and versioned prompt chains as essential artifacts.
• You are self-motivated.
• You excel in small, high-autonomy teams and startups where responsibilities are broad and contexts evolve rapidly.
• You possess strong written communication skills.
• You take ownership of problems from start to finish without waiting for a ticket to guide your next steps.
• You have a passion for learning, actively utilizing the latest advancements in AI to enhance both your own work and that of others.
• You are inspired by MCP's mission and vision, eager to create products that benefit teachers and students.
• You aspire to make a significant impact and believe that your skills are best used to empower others, ready to contribute to the lives of educators and young people.
