Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and create dependable, observable, and user-friendly backend microservices and data pipelines.

• Develop, test, deploy, and monitor your own code throughout the complete CI/CD lifecycle.

• Assume responsibility for the production environment.

• Contribute to the transition to AWS by developing and managing services on AWS and assisting in the migration of existing pipelines.

• Collaborate with AI agents to generate and enhance code, focusing on architecture, review, quality, correctness, and robustness.

• Perform code reviews on both human-developed and AI-generated code.

• Engage in architectural decisions, weighing trade-offs, identifying risks, and evaluating alternatives.

• Lead end-to-end initiatives with support from the Tech Lead and Tech Manager.

• Participate in discussions on architecture, conduct code reviews, and engage in pair programming.

• Assist in elevating the team’s technical capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend engineering within production environments, including the design, development, and operation of microservices at scale.

• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, encompassing CI/CD, containerization, observability, and current industry-standard operational methodologies.

• Practical experience with AWS, including the development and operational management of services in a production setting.

• Direct experience with AI tools for software development, managing AI agents, and reviewing, correcting, and enhancing generated code.

• Senior-level independence to take complete ownership, from solution design to production deployment.

• Proactive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to pose questions, challenge assumptions, and work closely with the team.

• Familiarity with Clojure, functional programming, or JVM languages like Java is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Experience with event-processing and messaging systems, such as Kafka or comparable technologies, as well as high-volume data pipelines is a plus.

• Proficiency in English is beneficial; fluency is not a prerequisite.

• Experience in migrating workloads between cloud providers, such as from GCP to AWS, is an advantage.
