Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of feature delivery from the technical approach to production while maintaining a high level of autonomy.

• Design and develop comprehensive software features from start to finish.

• Write unit tests and ensure performance, security, and reliability standards are met prior to QA handoff.

• Identify bugs, ascertain root causes, and proactively resolve issues.

• Convert UX designs into functional, accessible software.

• Investigate new tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted development methodologies.

• Document technical research to serve as decision-making guides and proposal documents.

• Oversee testing environments and carry out safe, reliable deployments across various environments.

• Monitor releases for early indications of regression.

• Collaborate with the Architect on decisions related to technical design and architecture.

• Provide senior-level technical guidance and ensure alignment with architectural strategies.

• Act as a senior escalation point for production-related issues and conduct root cause analysis.

• Communicate findings from incidents to both Ops and non-technical stakeholders.

• Coordinate with SRE during release processes.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.

• Perform additional duties as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proven expertise in full-stack development.

• Strong proficiency in Python, FastAPI, AWS Lambda Powertools, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Experience in creating prototypes for new tools, frameworks, or AI-assisted workflows.

• Knowledge in system design, debugging, and unit/integration testing, including pytest.

• Strong critical and analytical thinking skills for tackling ambiguous, end-to-end technical challenges.

• Experience with code review practices and providing constructive, meaningful feedback.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.

• Experience with AWS deployment and assessing production-release risks.

• Ability to interpret acceptance criteria and validate performance, security, and reliability requirements.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

• Capability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.

• Preferred: Experience with React, Tailwind CSS, and WCAG-compliant accessible interfaces.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, and AWS CloudWatch.

• Preferred: Experience in mentorship or coaching roles.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Python for AI/ML prototyping.

• Preferred: Background in the auto finance, lending, or compliance-driven software domains.
