Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +20 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to develop a leading product in the market.

• Establish the technical framework that supports our platform's growth as we expand our customer base, product features, integrations, and AI-driven capabilities.

• Design and implement scalable APIs, services, and data models that drive our customer-facing applications.

• Take ownership of the reliability, performance, and observability of backend systems in a production environment.

• Design, construct, and manage scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Temporal workflows, Redis, AWS (RDS, S3, SQS, DynamoDB), and Terraform, with a strong emphasis on reliability, observability, and developer experience.

• Develop and sustain high-performance, accessible frontend applications using React and TypeScript, working closely with product teams to provide exceptional user experiences.

• Utilize AI-native development strategies to enhance engineering speed, incorporating AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code), reusable Skills, autonomous agents, and workflow automation. You will be expected to effectively use these tools and contribute to the evolution of our engineering practices with AI.

• Integrate third-party services and APIs to provide comprehensive solutions.

• Advocate for developer experience by enhancing tooling, CI/CD, testing, local development workflows, and engineering processes that boost team productivity.

• Engage in technical architecture discussions and influence technical decisions within your team and across the engineering department.

• Mentor and collaborate with other developers to promote a growth mindset and elevate the technical standards.

• Exemplify craftsmanship, reliability, and quality in your leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS/BE degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of backend software development experience with a quick learning ability.

• Background in building products within a startup or high-growth setting, as well as addressing large-scale systems and performance challenges.

• Demonstrated experience as a technical leader—responsible for architectural decisions, leading design reviews, or serving as a primary technical resource for a team.

• In-depth knowledge of modern Python, including async/await, type-safe development, Pydantic, API design, testing, and constructing production-grade distributed systems.

• Proven experience in developing scalable, maintainable frontend applications using React and TypeScript.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy (both sync and async), and Alembic migrations.

• Advanced understanding of AWS services such as RDS, S3, SQS, ECS, and IAM fundamentals.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code using Terraform.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or coding agents) or a strong interest in adopting AI-native engineering workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.

• Proficient in observability and monitoring practices.

• A well-rounded blend of creativity and practicality, along with a proven history of timely project delivery.
