Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain secure, scalable backend APIs and services utilizing Python, Django, and FastAPI for enterprise clients.

• Construct LLM pipelines, create evaluations, and refine prompting strategies and model outputs to enhance quality and reliability.

• Execute LLM observability, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks to assess model performance, latency, and costs.

• Develop efficient and scalable database structures, optimize SQL queries, and ensure data integrity at scale.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, and data/AI teams to convert requirements into well-architected technical solutions.

• Take part in code reviews and support high coding standards and best practices.

• Create systems and AI-driven features that are dependable, precise, trusted by clients, and continuously improved.

• Question assumptions, refine requirements, and transform vague challenges into solid solutions.

• Serve as a thought partner and reviewer for colleagues.

• Interact with executives and clients, navigate implementation processes, and convert concepts into tangible solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional engineering experience.

• Strong expertise in Python.

• Experience with Django.

• Practical experience with LLMs, including constructing pipelines, writing evaluations, and enhancing model outputs.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and asynchronous task queues like Celery or similar.

• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful and/or GraphQL API design and development.

• Capacity to dissect and drive complex technical challenges to completion.

• Clear and direct communication with a strong sense of ownership over work outcomes.

• Authentic interest in financial data and supervised learning systems.

• Experience in high-growth, product-centric technology firms, managing production systems and collaborating across teams.

• Ability to engage with executives and clients in an innovative manner.

• Capability to navigate implementation processes and thrive in an ambiguous environment.

• Bonus: background in fintech, financial data, or sectors where data quality and audit trails are crucial.

• Bonus: knowledge of 10-Ks, 10-Qs, transcripts, segment reporting, and non-GAAP reconciliations.
