Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Establish and enhance software development methodologies.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and testable code with a focus on observability and resilience.

• Mentor and empower junior engineers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to outline the vision and scope for product areas.

• Strategize and project quarterly objectives alongside Management, Product Engineering, and Operations.

• Advocate for the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and production support/monitoring.

• Contribute to all layers of development to further the advancement of Cribl Cloud.

• Share on-call responsibilities and engage in service ownership.

• Carry out standby, on-call, or after-hours tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must meet U.S. government security criteria for access to FedRAMP-authorized systems, which may necessitate U.S. citizenship.

• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable, and testable full-stack Node.js/TypeScript code.

• Experience in complex development settings, particularly large-scale, highly available distributed systems and SaaS platforms.

• Familiarity with developing resilient and scalable backend services on a leading cloud provider, preferably AWS.

• Skilled in creating secure and user-friendly RESTful APIs and interfaces.

• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, Linux, and distributed systems.

• Knowledgeable in secure web development methods, troubleshooting intricate application workflows, and performance optimization.

• Experience with assertion frameworks and tools such as Mocha, Cypress, or Jest for automated regression testing.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with a rapid learning curve.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing elegant, high-quality software.

• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Bitbucket, Jenkins, or CircleCI.

• Experience in implementing cloud design patterns.

• Familiarity with serverless or Lambda-based implementations.

• Experience in establishing authentication and authorization for both internal and external users.
