Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications utilizing Elixir and Python.

• Construct and support both early-stage and established production systems that drive Avandra's imaging data platform.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to the long-term strategy of the platform.

• Take ownership of projects from conception to deployment and ongoing support.

• Lead technical initiatives with minimal oversight.

• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices, code quality, and development standards.

• Create scalable processes and frameworks that support the growth of the company.

• Enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest enhancements to the engineering stack.

• Contribute to experimentation, learning, and technical excellence.

• Adapt across functions and assist in overcoming challenges wherever necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying production-grade applications using Elixir and/or Python.

• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices.

• Experience in developing and maintaining scalable distributed systems.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

• Capability to independently drive projects and manage competing priorities.

• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated with evolving technologies.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases is preferred.

• Prior experience mentoring engineers or in technical leadership is preferred.

• Experience in healthcare technology, health data, medical imaging, or regulated environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with data-intensive applications, APIs, and large-scale platform development is preferred.
