Senior Software Engineer, Asset Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Design and implement modular, maintainable software solutions that are optimized for performance and scalability.

• Lead discussions on feature and epic design while incorporating feedback from cross-functional teams.

• Make technical decisions aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.

• Resolve technical ambiguities through systematic analysis and collaboration.

• Manage medium- to large-scale projects from conception to delivery with minimal oversight.

• Coordinate technical dependencies among various teams.

• Develop and execute project plans that align with business goals.

• Uphold quality standards while adhering to project timelines.

• Advocate for best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring systems.

• Conduct actionable code reviews.

• Promote technical debt reduction and refactor legacy code.

• Mentor junior engineers on best practices and modern development techniques.

• Facilitate knowledge sharing through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.

• Influence technical direction through well-reasoned arguments and expertise.

• Manage backend components and services from design and implementation through maintenance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Over 5 years of hands-on professional software development experience with a focus on backend engineering.

• Strong senior-level experience with .NET / C#.

• In-depth knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, authorization, versioning, scalability, and backend system design.

• Experience in designing and operating systems supported by PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases.

• Understanding of backend architecture, data modeling, performance tuning, and reliability.

• Experience in designing and implementing unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing strategies.

• Ability to design maintainable and scalable backend solutions.

• Experience in making or influencing architectural decisions.

• Basic knowledge of frontend technologies and frontend/API interactions.

• Capability to manage backend components or services end-to-end.

• Effectiveness in working within an agile, cross-functional, English-speaking team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• A collaborative, adaptable, curious, and continuously learning mindset.

• Nice to have: Experience with OpenSearch, AWS, CI/CD and DevOps, Datadog, Prometheus, AI technologies, distributed systems, data-intensive platforms, React, or full-stack experience.

• Capability to sit at a desk or workstation for 7–8 hours a day.

• Ability to operate computer and phone systems and type.
