Senior Software Engineer – API for Cloud Networking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark.

📋 Description

• Assist in developing cloud platform capabilities that establish, oversee, and secure networking within the Akamai Cloud.

• Create and implement clean, efficient, and high-performing REST APIs for both customers and internal teams.

• Build and sustain internal libraries and microservices utilized by various teams at Akamai.

• Design, implement, review, document, and test top-quality Python code in partnership with the team.

• Review and contribute to architectural and design documentation produced by other teams.

• Guide other developers and work collaboratively with leadership and non-developer stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in mainstream programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Go.

• Strong skills in writing, testing, and comprehending complex software solutions.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs.

• Familiarity with technical design, product specification reviews, project management, and backlog planning.

• Capability to work effectively with team members to collaboratively identify and address issues.

• Strong communication skills with experience in engaging with leadership and non-developer stakeholders.

• Background in mentoring other developers.

• A curiosity and eagerness to learn.

• Proficiency in English as the primary working language.

• Experience with Python, Docker, pytest, MySQL, SQLAlchemy, Flask, Prometheus, and Grafana is advantageous; familiarity with all tools is not mandatory.

• Experience in developing microservices is a valuable asset.
