Senior Software Engineer – AI Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and sustain Conexa AI’s primary services, emphasizing accuracy, scalability, security, and observability.

• Design and implement generative and agentic AI features in production, including agents, RAG pipelines, workflows, LLM integrations, and connections with external tools via MCPs.

• Construct and advance multi-stack distributed systems utilizing Node.js, Python, and Java, encompassing RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and streaming pipelines.

• Integrate microservices, legacy systems, and AI platforms, ensuring consistency, resilience, and traceability.

• Work with message queues and event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ and BullMQ.

• Model, optimize, and manage relational, non-relational, and vector databases, including embeddings, caching, and eventual consistency.

• Contribute to the front end in React/TypeScript as necessary.

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve intricate technical issues in multi-tenant production environments, including non-deterministic behavior in LLM-based systems.

• Ensure code quality through automated testing, agent quality evaluations (evals), and sound engineering practices.

• Identify and propose new applications for generative and agentic AI throughout the Conexa ecosystem.

• Rapidly prototype AI feature hypotheses through spikes and POCs, validating technical feasibility and business value.

• Participate in defining the application of AI in the team’s roadmap.

• Bring cutting-edge AI knowledge and assess practical adoption opportunities.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Data, and AI teams on integrated delivery and prioritization of ideas.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the team’s technical and strategic development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience with Node.js and NestJS, with advanced proficiency in strict TypeScript and microservices architectures.

• Robust experience with Java and Spring (Boot, Data, Security).

• Experience with Python (FastAPI or equivalent) utilized in service and API development, particularly in generative AI.

• Practical experience in building AI agents, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations in production environments.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation tools such as n8n or comparable platforms.

• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including modeling, complex queries, and performance tuning.

• Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis) and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, BullMQ).

• Familiarity with vector databases and the principles of embeddings and semantic search.

• Experience in designing and versioning RESTful APIs and WebSockets.

• Ability to read and enhance front-end code in React/TypeScript when required.

• Advanced, regular use of agentic AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot, including MCP customization.

• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and multidisciplinary teams.

• Analytical, proactive profile with a strong sense of ownership.

• Strong communication skills and the capability to influence technical and product decisions in highly ambiguous environments.
