Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Full ownership: You will lead initiatives from concept to production, actively identifying opportunities and risks while ensuring measurable results.

• High-quality services: You will design, build, and manage dependable and scalable services and applications that enable AI-driven features and internal functionalities.

• Clean engineering practices: You will write clean, testable, and efficient code, enhancing reliability and maintainability through reviews, standards, and practical architecture.

• AI and agentic engineering: You will assess how AI can enhance user experience, responsibly prototype solutions, and assist in operationalizing agentic workflows such as automation, decision support, and developer productivity.

• Collaborative delivery: You will collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to create user-focused functionalities and iterate based on feedback and results.

• Team empowerment: You will share your expertise, mentor engineers when necessary, and contribute to a high-performing team through improved tools and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applied AI expertise: You have experience in deploying AI-powered features or developing LLM or agent workflows, including prompt and tooling patterns, evaluation and monitoring, or best practices for AI safety.

• Solid software engineering foundation: You possess several years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as Python, PHP, Java, C#, or similar.

• Backend system experience: You have designed and maintained backend systems in production environments and prioritize operability.

• Cloud-native approach: You are familiar with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and modern development workflows like CI/CD and infrastructure as code.

• AI systems integration experience: You have integrated backend systems with AI services in production and understand the trade-offs related to reliability and risk.

• Familiarity with AI coding tools: You are proficient with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar, using them to enhance delivery speed without sacrificing quality.

• Product-oriented mindset: You are motivated by the purpose behind your work and aim for user value rather than just output.

• Ownership mentality: You take accountability for results, guide projects from concept to production, and continuously seek improvements post-launch.

• Strong collaboration skills: You communicate effectively, thrive in cross-functional teams, and enjoy sharing knowledge.

• Language proficiency: You are fluent in English at C1 or C2 level, and ideally have a B2 level or higher in German.

• Preferred qualifications: You have experience with Kafka or event-driven systems, Salesforce, and are an AI enthusiast with personal projects to share.
